Andy Dick - CANCELLED

How does one describe Andy? Manic funnyman? A crash, waiting to happen? I like to think of him more as a controlled skid or an often divinely inspired fool.

When it comes to Andy, the joke is actually the thing that people unknowingly laugh at. I hope this fact doesn't go unnoticed. Human history has a record of post-mortem recognition with such comedic-types (i.e. Peter Sellers, Ernie Kovacs, Andy Kaufman). Andy is reminiscent of such comics and yet completely unique. (As a side note, Andy Dick was pulling Kaufmanesque stunts when Jim Carrey was living in a van, on the Canadian tundra.)

Andy's proven himself onstage: as a touring member of Chicago's The Second City, Andy studied acting and improvisation with the late great Del Close. His live performances are now with his world-renowned band The Bitches of the Century and the continually transforming Big Dick Show. Growing up the son of a sailor, Andy's nomadic childhood continues on the road. His first album Andy Dick & the Bitches of the Century released in the spring of 2002, has now sold more units than the Beatles and Elvis combined!

He's proven himself on TV: first of all, he has over 30 commercials under his short belt (a wasp-like, waist, unprintably small) He was a regular cast member on the much lauded, little seen, Ben Stiller Show A television classic equal to the great British classic Fawlty Towers! (Both have only 13 episodes). Of course, he's probably best known for the 5 seasons he spent as Matthew on the NBC hit News Radio. Make no mistake about it, Andy ain't Matthew! Currently, he appears as Owen Kronsky, on ABC's monster-hit Less Than Perfect.

He's also starred in and directed his own MTV series, creatively entitled The Andy Dick Show. This show tested the bounds of good taste, and the patience of network censors. Entertainment Tonight quoted Donald Trump as saying The Assistant, Andy's MTV parody of Trump's The Apprentice made "the Donald" laugh so hard, he actually shat himself... twice! ANDY... YOU'RE HIRED!

As far as films are concerned, I believe the best is yet to come. Check out imdb.com for a complete listing. A few of Andy's past highlights include Inspector Gadget, Road Trip, Old School, Reality Bites, Zoolander, and The Cable Guy.

I'm starting to sound like Andy's agent or something. The fact is, if you didn't like Andy, you probably wouldn't be reading this in the first place. So in closing I'll say this, I've only known Andy since 1990, so whatever twisted and warped depravity shaped the upbringing of this skinny little freak, I can't attest to. What I can do, along with yourself, is sit back, relax, and laugh at its results.

Although I can't read or write, and Andy paid me for this, I do hereby swear that all of this is true.

P.S. The Beatles and Elvis never actually combined to record together, so...
